Widening Horizons in Philosophical Theology is a five-year project to advance philosophical theology, defined as a theology resourced by methods and insights from within systematic theology and continental philosophy.
The project team is led by Prof. Judith Wolfe, Professor of Philosophical Theology at the University of St Andrews.
The project has two phases:
- The planning phase, entitled New Directions in Philosophical Theology, spans September 2019 to August 2021. This project phase has been laying the groundwork for the main phase through a series of field-building activities.
- The main phase, entitled Widening Horizons in Philosophical Theology, spans September 2021 to August 2024. This phase supports twelve two-year research projects advancing the project vision at a network of institutions. The projects are being chosen by open competition and will be announced in early July 2021.
This project is generously supported by the Templeton Religion Trust.
